Our first time in Picton and stayed near at an AirBNB. The Main Street of Picton is littered with shops and restaurants, true gems. The crown jewel however is the Royal. Elegant, stylish decor with an exquisite bar and menu. The Farinata was one of the most delicious plant based items I have ever had. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and impressively plentiful. You never want for anything and they seem like they truly care about your experience. Alexis, Robin, Hope, Graeme and Gaurav were all standouts.

The fam and I had dinner at The Royal during the holidays and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and friendly host who took our jackets and escorted us to our table. We were seated right infront of the kitchen which was super cool to watch during the dinner service. We ordered the truffle pasta, gnocchi and steak frites. All were absolutely scrumptious. The service was too notch. Highly recommend & looking forward to returning.

We dined at the Royal Hotel in August 2025 and it was excellent. The food was delicious, the hotel restaurant and lobby itself was gorgeous but above all else, the service was outstanding. We had never been as it has recently been under renovation. We had a preconceived idea that it would be old school elegance. It was indeed elegant but with a modern, chic twist that didn’t take away from the absolute beauty of the building. The atmosphere seemed a bit chaotic at first since it was so busy being holiday season and I thought, oh no we’re going to get lost in the shuffle. I was so wrong. The place ran so efficiently but you never felt rushed. We had so many people taking care of us, never forgetting what we needed or requested. When my husband was glancing over the wine list a gentleman came over (perhaps the manager?) and asked if he’d like the sommelier to assist. Our glasses were never empty. Dirty dishes never sitting. The food was incredible. First our cocktails were sensational concoctions, mine being a mocktail - yes a mocktail that tasted like real gin. Thank you Royal for a fabulous mocktail menu! The food was fresh and delicious and the servers were accommodating to dietary concerns. Highly recommend this establishment.

I recently stayed at The Royal with my husband for his birthday. Leading up to our stay, the staff was so helpful and accommodating. They put together a wonderful surprise of balloons and Hinterland sparkling wine in our room on our arrival and everyone was so friendly all weekend long. The hotel itself is gorgeous - so stylish and unique and the rooms are really special. We stayed in one of the Empire rooms and I loved the overall aesthetic and comfort. We had breakfast each morning at the counter bar, and received excellent service (and some of the most delicious pancakes!) and in the evening we had dinner in the hotel dining room (incredible squash and brown butter cappelletti and an out of this world steak frites). Overall, staying at The Royal was a big part of making our weekend special and I can’t see myself staying anywhere else the next time I visit Picton.

We had a lovely stay at the Royal Hotel. The room was so comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. We had a magnificent dinner at the restaurant and had great help choosing the perfect wine. Our spa experience ( facial and massage) was excellent. Superior treatments to many larger spas I have been too. We will come again.

Excellent food - first rate and great quality. Room could use some improvements. Fresh drinking Water, an extra garbage can and more storage would be great! Bed was very comfortable and washroom was well appointed and excellent products within the room. Criticisms are very minor. Overall a strong hotel that’s really focused on its clients. Would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful hotel! Not to mention the amazing staff who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is relaxing, enjoyable and everything you hope it to be. Jennifer, Lindsay and all employees are truly lovely to chat with, seek guidance from and are willing to help in any way they can. Our son and his husband held the most amazing/epic weekend wedding at The Royal Hotel and we could not have asked for more as it was beyond our expectations! Thank you for helping make the wedding a very special event! Sherry

Really nice experience for our babymoon/anniversary. The facilities were clean and fully stocked with everything you might need. The staff did a great job keeping the environment quiet and peaceful. I only saw 2 other people during the 3 hours we spent at the spa so it was really private and relaxing. They even had a larger robe to fit me due to my height, a nice touch that usually is overlooked. I read a book in the lounge while my wife did a workout in the gym before our massages. My wife and I had a couples massage, she had the prenatal massage and I had the Swedish massage. The rooms were dark and comfortable temperature wise. I may or may not have fallen asleep during my massage. Needless to say it was all very relaxing.

A lovely experience overall. The service was excellent, very attentive and welcoming. We stayed in the annex and the rooms were clean and beautiful. The vibe was modern, rural Canada. The only comment would be that some of the elements weren't completely intuitive, for example the slippers were in the bathroom while the towels were in the hall closet. The bar was fun with delicious drinks. The bar staff were friendly, attentive, and had great suggestions. Overall, it was a great weekend away and we'll be back!

Had a wonderful stay at The Royal Hotel. It’s so beautiful and thoughtfully curated. Our room was comfortable and the service felt warm and attentive throughout our visit. The spa was also fantastic; best facial ever! It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing PEC getaway — we’ll definitely be back.
